FC TOKYO and GoPets Formalize a Strategic Agreement to Launch Japan’s First Pet Membership Model in Professional Football

FC TOKYO and GoPets have formalized a strategic agreement for the progressive development of a pet-friendly project aimed at strengthening the bond between the club and its fan community in Japan.

The agreement was formalized during an institutional meeting between Shigeya Kawagishi, President of FC TOKYO, and Xavier Cortés Tuvio, Founder & CEO of GoPets, marking the beginning of a structured collaboration aligned with the club’s innovation-driven vision.

The agreement establishes the framework for the gradual implementation of new experiences and engagement dynamics linked to the growing role of pets in the family lives of many supporters. The project will be developed in an integrated manner within the club’s ecosystem and in coordination with its medium- and long-term institutional strategy.

In recent years, pets have gained increasing relevance in Japanese society, becoming a central element in millions of households. In this context, FC TOKYO continues to explore new ways to connect with its fan base, expanding its value proposition beyond the purely sporting dimension.

For GoPets, this agreement represents a significant step in the international development of its model, establishing the foundations of its implementation within the Japanese sports ecosystem and strengthening its presence in the country, with the objective of expanding this model across additional clubs and markets in the future.

This agreement also opens the door to future collaborations with industry partners aligned with this vision, further enhancing the value of the project.

Commenting on the agreement, Shigeya Kawagishi, President of FC TOKYO, stated:

“We are very pleased to announce the launch of our new pet membership service in collaboration with GoPets, a first in Japan. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating new values and experiences for our fans and their families, including their beloved pets.

Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen the bond between the club and our community by offering services that enrich everyday life. We look forward to working closely with GoPets to deliver innovative and meaningful experiences to all FC TOKYO supporters.”

Further information regarding the implementation and activation phases of the project will be shared in due course.
